I too have seen the YouTube videos of people using paint cans and bragging about painting their bathtub and bathroom tile for under $20.00. However, in the video below I show an example of what happens when condensation builds under the paint. The customer below had "refinished" their bathtub just a short time before calling me. They did hire it done, however, this particular bathtub was just a failure. It looks as if no bonding agent was used. The paint was applied on top of the old surface, so when when condensation formed under the surface between the new and old surface this is what happened. As you can see the paint looks as if it literally dried on top of a slick surface. Without being able to bond it simply came off in sheets. This is because condensation formed under the surface and simply allowed everything to peel off. The surface also had residue under the surface. It looked god for about 2 weeks.
972-391-7994
Professional Bathtub Refinishing Dallas TX

Bathtub,Refinishing,Refacing,Dallas,Tx

https://www.dallasbathtubrefinishing.com/bathtub-painting-dallas/bathtubrefinishingrefacingdallastx

https://www.dallasbathtubrefinishing.com/bathtub-painting-dallas/bathtubrefinishingrefacingdallastx#comments

972 391 7994

9723917994

bathtub

bathtub painting

Bathtub Refinishing

Bathtub Reglazing

bathtub repairs

Bathtub Resurfacing

bathtub work

Dallas

Dallas Bathtub Aces

Dallas Bathtub Pros

Dallas Bathtub Refinishing

Dallas Bathtubs

fiberglass bathtubs

how to paint a bathtub

porcelain bathtubs

Refinishing

Tx

Bathtub Refinishing Dallas |Bathtub Refacing A question I often am asked concerns the difference between Bathtub Refinishing Dallas, Bathtub Refacing ,Bathtub Resurfacing and Bathtub Reglazing . Is one better than the other?
What is Polyester coating? The truth is it used to be considered reglazing when a clear coat was applied to the bathtub surface to regain the gloss, and seal off lead that leech into the bathwater from old worn out porcelain bathtubs. However, to understand that term you will also need to understand that the bathtub refinishing in Dallas today is not the bathtub refinishing in Dallas of years past. In the 1990's bathtub refinishing was really nothing more than bathtub painting in Dallas. It was simply because the bathtub refinishing Dallas industry had nothing more then epoxy paint to use. The drawback was the fact it was painted on top of the old surface, bathtubs refinished with epoxy would yellow and look painted or dull. Then a lot of bathtub refinishing technicians would try to use automotive paint. This was a toxic smell that lingered for days and since the paint could not be baked on at the high temperature like automotive painters do it simply took a long time to dry and it ended up looking dull and you can imagine why. Think of the airborne dust particles that would stick to something that needed 48 - 72 hours to dry. This will explain why if you get quotes from different refinishing companies they give a cure time of 24 hours to 72 hours. This will give you a good idea of what product they are using. This is also why I started using the Polyester coating. It was developed specifically for the Bathtub,Tile and Vanity refinishing industry. There is no other use for this coating. I have literature explaining my process on my Price List page which can be found by clicking the Dallas Bathtub Refinishing price list link here or at the top of the page in the Navigation bar. I appreciate your time to learn more about the bathtub refinishing Dallas industry and you will find I have created a lot of information for those that wish to learn more. A great way to learn more. Bathtub Refinishing Dallas

Does Bathtub Painting Work

https://www.dallasbathtubrefinishing.com/bathtub-painting-dallas/does-bathtub-painting-work

https://www.dallasbathtubrefinishing.com/bathtub-painting-dallas/does-bathtub-painting-work#comments

bathtub painting

bathtub repairs

bathtub work

fiberglass bathtubs

how to paint a bathtub

porcelain bathtubs

Does Bathtub Painting Work Bathtub Refinishing Dallas - To answer this correctly. I think it would depend on your definition of work. If you follow every single detail of instruction in the kit and you don't mind the toxic fumes associated with Epoxy paint. Then yes it will work by making the bathtub look better for a very short period of time. you have to keep in mind, This Technology is early 1980's technology. Dallas bathtub refinishing will never use epoxy paint and Dallas bathtub refinishing will never simply paint over a tub.

What can I expect the bathtub to look like after painting it

Bathtub Refinishing Dallas - The bathtub will look like a slightly yellow and painted looking bathtub. Let me explain this before we go any further, Bathtub Refinishing may look like bathtub painting. However, bathtub refinishing if correctly done using a synergistic system is going to open the pores and chemically weld a new Polyester surface into, not on to the old surface. It will be applied with an HVLP applicator meaning no dust.. Lets look at why I said Bathtub Painting will look 'painted' and Yellow.

Epoxy is very old technology that is never used in professional bathtub refinishing any more.

There is a reason we don't use it. It just never looked good or lasted.

Anytime you are using a paint, even a high gloss paint the shine will dull once it is dry. Since the paint lays on top of the old surface it has a thick, orange peel look. "painted look"

Epoxy will have a yellow tint added to it because epoxy will yellow if bleach is used on it. 972-391-7994
