Chip Repair — Dallas Bathtub Refinishing Owner Operated
Dallas Bathtub Refinishing Chip Repair — Professional, Owner-Operated
Precise bathtub & sink chip repair in Dallas–Fort Worth with Fusion Lock™ bonding + liquid porcelain glaze. Also offering stain removal and rust restoration. Meet the owner: Johnny — no subcontractors.
Why chip repair matters (porcelain, acrylic, fiberglass, cultured marble)
- Porcelain tubs: factory porcelain uses a lead-based binder. A chip exposes that layer, which can leach lead into bath water until sealed.
- Moisture creep: like a tooth cavity, water migrates under the finish and a dime-size chip can turn into a 5-inch problem.
- Acrylic/fiberglass/cultured marble: small chips become cracks, or at minimum expose sub-layers to moisture and mildew/mold.
- Rust & stains: chips near the drain/overflow let steel/iron flash rust; metal and tannin staining then telegraphs through light finishes.

How I repair a chip — the Fusion Lock™ method
- Deep prep & micro-etch: clean, de-contaminate, and profile the damage.
- Seal the problem at the source: fill with a marine-grade polyester resin and chemically bond it with Fusion Lock™ to isolate the factory lead binder on porcelain tubs.
- Color match & glaze: match the tub/sink shade of white; feather with liquid porcelain glaze using a controlled melting/blending agent.
- UV bake & initial cure: UV light accelerates the set; surface is handled carefully afterward.
- Final cure: allow a full 24-hour cure before normal use.
Result: a tight, sealed repair that blocks moisture intrusion, stops rust spread, and prevents lead leaching on porcelain.
Care & cleaning after a chip repair
- Wait the full 24 hours before use.
- Clean with gentle dish soap (e.g., spray + microfiber). Avoid abrasives and harsh acids.
- Don’t drop heavy objects on the repair area; use bathmats that don’t trap water underneath.

Chip Repair — Quick FAQ
Why fix a porcelain chip right away?
Factory porcelain is fused over a lead-based binder. A chip exposes that layer—water can contact it and leach lead into bath water. Chips also let moisture creep under the finish like a cavity, turning a dime-size spot into a long fracture. Sealing it promptly stops both problems.
What materials do you use to repair the chip?
I fill the damage with a marine-grade polyester resin, then bond it using Fusion Lock™ to isolate the porcelain’s factory lead binder. I color-match your shade of white and feather in a liquid porcelain glaze using a controlled melting agent for a near seamless blend.

Do you UV-cure the repair?
Yes. I use a specialized UV light to accelerate the set so the material locks up cleanly. There’s still a final 24-hour cure before normal use—please let it finish so the repair reaches full hardness and gloss.
Can you help with stains and rust?
Absolutely. I remove iron/tannin stains and heavy soap film, and I neutralize rust at drains/overflows before blending. Stopping the source prevents the stain from “telegraphing” back through light finishes.
Which surfaces can you repair?
Porcelain, cast-iron, steel, acrylic, fiberglass, and cultured marble tubs & sinks. On plastics (acrylic/fiberglass/cultured marble), early chip repair helps prevent cracks and moisture exposure to sub-layers.
How do I get the fastest quote?
Text me clear photos: 972-391-7994 please include the zip (this allows me to figure in driving time and tolls if applicable) 1) the chip close-up, 2) then, the entire bathtub, 3) the drain/overflow area if rust is present. Any care tips after a repair?
Wait the full 24 hours. Avoid abrasives and harsh acids (bleach, vinegar — I recommend and use dawn power wash and a microfiber rag even on new non refinished surfaces. Chip repairs are usually so small they don't have any after care like a full refinishing would. Allowing the 24 hour cure time is the most important.
