Prepare yourself, as well as your Bathtub, Tile or Shower
I realize that having refinishing work completed is at once exciting and inconvenient. Either you can’t wait to see the finished project, or you have the feeling of the 'what ifs' such as "what if they just rush in and then leave, what if the technician has never even refinished before and this is the first job they have done (it's more common than you may think with large companies) the 'what ifs' can steal your joy of what should be an exciting experience. For that reason, I encourage you to deal with an owner / operated company. We have all heard the saying "if you want something right you have to do it yourself" well, that is how I feel about going into my customers home! The truth is, this is not a quick and easy process. Everything from weather conditions to the dust conditions inside the home affect the finished product. That's not saying the weather has to be perfect, Just saying the technician needs to understand how the weather for that day will effect the coating so it can be properly mixed.
I know we all want the best price for what we get. Keep this in mind, when correctly completed a refinished surface should last just as long as a new porcelain bathtub. A new porcelain bathtub has a life expectancy of 20 years. Synthetic porcelain has a life expectancy of 20+ years too! However, the sad part is epoxy paint is still being used by some refinishing companies and even though that is bathtub painting, they are calling it refinishing. Epoxy paint was never meant for bathtub refinishing! It is a very tough paint. However, the word to remember here is paint. It is painted on top of the surface.
We also know that you’ll find a surprising amount of discussion and differing opinions about the type of coating to use, the length of time before use and what to clean the surface with. The reason for that is because so many professionals are using products that simply are NOT meant for refinishing. I have seen everything from car paint, Epoxy, Lacquer even wall paint and Kilz sealant used on bathtubs and tile. Please understand If you hire the right professional you are going to increase the value of your home but you have to use a knowledgeable professional that uses synthetic porcelain and please resist any urge to cut corners based on a friend — or stranger’s — advice.

As a consumer I completely understand how bathtub refinishing may be something that you have not really heard of or may know very little about. I always try to put myself in my customers shoes. I wanted to take a minute on this gorgeous Friday morning the good Lord has blessed us with to simply go over some questions that I am often asked.
I think this translates to "does refinishing last?" YES! this has not always been the case but please keep in mind any industry that money can be made in technology will produce better and better results. The epoxy paint kits that are sold are 1990's technology. Epoxy has not been an accepted coating in the bathtub and tile refinishing Industry since 2002 or 2003. During that time of the Epoxy paint (Yes, I have used my fair share of it) was strictly for Apartments and Hotels. It was a quick fix, had a painted look but it still looked okay, it would yellow if strong bleach was used and it was a paint. This meant it was painted on top of the old surface. Since it was painted on top of the old surface It would peel.
This is why technology went into developing a coating that could perform as close to porcelain as possible. Not just a coating was developed but a process, a synergistic process that works by building on the step before. A bathtub and tile refinishing pro will know that each step must be completed. However, when the steps are completed the end result is a product that has the same lifespan as a new porcelain bathtub which is 20+ years! Bathtub Refinishing Dallas Price List
As an owner / Operated business it becomes very important to stay in the local area that I live in. I live in Rockwall and my wife and I actually just moved to Mesquite over by Lowes off Galloway and Hwy. 30. My father is 85 and mom and Dad live in old Mesquite so we are only about 6 minutes away from them in case they need anything. You know Important things like... They yard mowed, A Hamburger, or maybe the conversation about how the same squirrel eats the bird seed every morning between 7 and 8 AM!
It reminds me of when I was a kid, playing in the back yard. I would hear my name and I knew better then to say "What?" because that reply always got the reply of "if I wouldn't have wanted you I wouldn't have called you" LOL! So I would run in only to change the channel on the big Zennith T.V. Dad had in the Living Room! I was so excited when we got our first remote control!! However, back then the Cable still had the A and B switch so I would go running in so Dad could see what was on the "A" channels.... then the "B" channels!
That's o.k. though because I know I am blessed to have mom and Dad around in their 80's and I would not have it any other way!
The Gentleman today took advantage of the Spring Special. He was able to get the Gold Package Refinishing (my best package) for $300.00 (Reg. $400.00) Please know this is a limited time special through June. His bathtub had been refinished before and needed some extra work. However, being self employed I am not stuck to a specific price list and I could tell by the pictures it needed a good sanding rather then completely stripped off. Other refinishers wanted to charge him $200 to strip the tub plus $400 to refinish it. I'm not suggesting that is unfair or too much. That is a fair price. If I operated a large company with overhead I would have to do the same thing. However, My choice is to do the work myself, keep my overhead low and save my customers a few Hundred $$$ when possible.
The only way an Owner / Operated small business can really stay in business is by doing great work. I need you to love the work so much you tell your friends and Family about me! To be honest with you,I can't afford some big marketing campaign. So it's a win / win situation... you want a great job, I know if I provide a great job you will tell others! I have been very blessed with complete strangers helping me out by telling others about me. Please don't think for a second that I don't appreciate it!
Dallas Bathtub Refinishing
Over 21 years in business, I bring that experience to you!
Bathtub refinishing is a lot more then painting a bathtub, tile, shower or vanity with epoxy paint. Bathtub Refinishing is the process of penetrating the old surface and chemically welding a new surface into the old. This is completed through the use of specialized chemicals and tools. Never should true bathtub refinishing involve epoxy paint.
As you can see in the picture below, the surface is first etched then coated with 5- 7 layers of synthetic porcelain which contains liquid glass. This gives a very tough surface that will last upwards of 20 years if properly taken care of.
