Bathtub refinishing also known as bathtub resurfacing or bathtub reglazing has come a long way over the last 8 to 10 years. Today refinishing process is not going to be the same as it was years ago. We have technology that quiet honestly either was not around or was in its infancy years ago.
Dallas Bathtubservices Its Not Rocket Science
You know the old saying "It's not like it's rocket science" well, that is true. Dallas bathtubs is not rocket science, but does borrow technology from the aerospace industry. Have you ever wondered why painted bathtubs peel? The truth is it could be anything from moisture in the air to surface prep but the main cause from what I have seen is as simple as not having the correct supplies.
See at Dallas Bathtubs we understand that to properly refinish a bathtub, tile, sink or vanity that surface has to be prepared correctly, which involves etching. The surface also has to have a high quality silane which is a molecular bonding agent. This is the product I spoke of earlier when I said Dallas Bathtubservices has borrowed technology from the aerospace industry.
Silane is a product that reacts with moisture ... or water. So the bonding agents will grab the coating and the coating is not paint. It is actually a polymer that closely resembles plastic in its dry form. This prevents the water from dissolving it. The Silane locks this polymer coating down not on top of the old surface, but into the old surface because of the etching process.

Dallas bathtubs has been refinishing tubs, tile, sinks and vanities in the Dallas,TX. area since 1991. I am an owner operated business that takes pride in the fact I personally refinish all work myself. No Day laborers or sub contract help.
Dallas bathtubs not only refinishes bathtubs. I also refinish tile, showers, sinks and vanities.
Dallas bathtubs was hired to integrate a new surface into the old surface of this worn bathtub. The bathtub has some rust spots that were reversed then treated with fiberglass resin to seal off the area. The bathtub surface was then etched and a molecular bonding agent was worked into the deep pores of the old surface. The new copolymer surface was then applied to bathtubs using an h.v.l.p. application with very low air pressure setting at about 2 pounds. Dallas bathtubs work is completed using the procedures and coatings endorsed by the P.B.R.A.
