That oil is called D-Limonine it is an acid and will ruin your refinishing, as well as any factory finish over time.
I want you to keep a glossy, clean surface for years to come! The best cleaner for refinished surfaces is Dawn power wash, which is available at most stores in the dish detergent section. You can also make your own formula using about 3 ounces of Dawn dish soap. 3 ounces of Rubbing alcohol and the rest water in a quart spray bottle (using the old dawn power wash bottle works best) it has a built in aerator. This makes an excellent cleaner for refinished surfaces and also to prevent damage to your non refinished surfaces.

Today was a little bit odd. I was called out to a gorgeous home in Dallas for bathtub resurfacing and tile refinishing. An elderly man answered the door and said he would be working in the backyard while I refinished the tile in a guest Shower. The Furniture had sheets covering it up and the corners of the room had cobwebs, I thought to myself the poor guy probably does the best he can. After I finished up on the tile I walked into the kitchen area realizing I never did get the mans name! I looked back over my text message and seen Jeff Walker ... perfect so I yell out "Mr. walker I have it finished up, If you would like to look at it" ... Mr. Walker, Sir I'm finished. I yell as I am walking through the home. I walk out back and yell Mr. Walker! Sir... I am finished.... I walk beside the house and the lady next door is unloading groceries from her SUV. Mam, I'm sorry to bother you I was looking for Mr. Walker, the elderly man that lives here. She looked up and asked who I was. Mr. Walker called me out to refinish his shower and said he would be working out back. She angrily asked are you joking? No mam, I have been here about 2 hours and I finished the shower. She then exclaimed Sir, Mr. Walker passed away a year ago to the day right out back while mowing the yard!!!

Today I was out in North Dallas. These evening when I came home my wife asked me an unusual question. (I know the guys reading this are sweating ... thoughts running thru their minds.. Did he forget an anniversary?... oh man, I bet it was a Birthday! ..LOL) No nothing that drastic but my wife said when you go up to peoples doors do you knock real loud if they don't come to the door right away? I said No... I actually confirm the day before with a 15 minute arrival time and then I always knock or ring the bell then I take a step back so when they open the door I am not right in their face. I asked why she was asking me this? She said today the guy came out to look at the water heater. I said wait I cancelled that appointment last night.
She said well he drove up and I seen the truck but I really didn't know who it was. Then they didn't knock but banged on the door. My Labrador Storm was barking like crazy she said but the guy kept banging on the door. Through the door she asked who it was and he said I'm here for the water heater.
She put storm up and opened the door to tell him that I had already fixed it but he just walked in while asking where is it? She explained it's off the laundry room but my husband fixed it and before she could say anything else he went walking in the direction she pointed. My wife went to the bedroom and grabbed my pistol I keep on top of the dresser and tucked it behind her back. 
The guy looked at the water heater and said the status light is blinking it's fine. Then he walked to the kitchen sink, washed his hands and then left. She said it was literally the most odd experience ever.
I try to learn from things like this so I never make my customers feel awkward because that is a terrible feeling!

Today's Bathtub refinishing project took me out to Frisco. Once again I can feel the hand of God blessing me with not only work, but with working for the absolute nicest people around. I ended up refinishing a double sink vanity at no/charge for these people and we literally talked like old friends that had not seen each other in ages.

I refinished the bathtub in the guest bathroom, In the master bedroom was a stand up shower that needed the fiberglass shower pan refinished. The homeowner looked and me and said I have scrubbed and scrubbed but just cannot get this shower pan clean.
I explained that this is actually a very common problem. The fiberglass becomes scratched and scratches look like dirt to the naked eye. So even though she was scrubbing these areas instead of removing dirt she was creating more scuffs and scratches. However, I was able to get them fixed up and made the bathtub, shower pan and bath vanity look new again for them!

Today I had dad at Veterans Hospital, anyone that has ever been at a hospital all day will know what I mean when I say it beats you down. Of course the talk was about the subject that I woke up to this morning the breaking news alerts on my phone at 3:50am. Like everyone else I don't know what to do ... except do the one thing that will help more than anything and that is say a prayer for our Nation and those impacted by this very Tragic event.

These months are just flying by! It seems like last week My wife was decorating for July 4th Holiday!

The first picture is the Paint I peeled and stripped off the bathtub. The second picture being the refinished bathtub. Notice how yellow the epoxy paint was compared to the polyester coating. This was only 4 weeks old. The epoxy will yellow will bleach is used to clean the bathtub. I thanked the homeowners for allowing me to not only refinish the bathtub correctly for them but for being truly interested in learning why the paint did not work. I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I certainly am thankful for my customers and family! It is now after 3pm on 11/25/2016 and I'm still full from yesterday!
I was called out today for refinishing a bathtub in the Garland TX. area that somebody else had refinished but would not come back out to fix.
So I took care of it for the homeowner and They had another bathtub they wanted refinished so I was able to fix the first bathtub at no charge for them.

Also a lot of other ares in side the tub that had runs and drips. It was a fairly easy fix and I was glad I could do it for them. Below is the second bathtub refinishing in Garland.
