Cultured Marble Bathtub and Surface Refinishing

Cultured Marble Bathtub Refinishing in Dallas TX
Cultured marble is made from crushed limestone blended with fiberglass resin — a very different surface than porcelain, ceramic, acrylic, or fiberglass tubs. The material is poured into molds and then encapsulated with a gel coat, which gives it that signature sheen.
When refinishing cultured marble, the gel coat must be removed. Doing so opens up tiny pinholes throughout the surface. This is completely normal — and actually a good sign. It means the surface can absolutely be refinished, and it does not have to be coated with a multi-fleck finish. Solid colors are 100% an option.
Years ago, most professional refinishing companies were limited to multi-fleck coatings for cultured marble. The textured look helped hide the pinholes and micro-cracks because older coatings simply weren’t smooth enough to bridge the surface.
Today, with Fusion Lock™ chemical bonding and a high-tensile porcelain glaze, cultured marble can now be refinished in a glossy, permanent white finish. The result is smooth, durable, and far superior to older systems.
This advanced refinishing process works beautifully on cultured marble garden tubs, jetted tubs, bathtubs, vanities, and even the shelving and deck areas commonly built around cultured marble installations.
