Dallas Bathtub Refinishing is committed to educating the public
In the Dallas bathtub refinishing Industry we get so many people that honestly do not know the difference between bathtub refinishing and bathtub painting.
Part of the blame is on the bathtub refinishing industry. Part of the blame is because there really was not a difference until around 2003. For years, even when I first started refinishing in 1991, we really only had one clear choice Epoxy paint. So for those that had bathtubs refinished in the past they were accustomed to bathtubs that had a "painted" look. Most complaints were involving either the "painted" look or "yellow tint" over a short time. Then there was peeling, flaking, spotting and several others I cant even think of off the top of my head.

Dallas Bathtub Refinishing Never Uses Standard Epoxy Paint

For example, Dallas bathtub refinishing uses the old school etching techniques so the surface is full of microscopic scratches and exposed pores. After this the technology of molecular bonding agents come into play. With fusion lock molecular bonding agent the entire surface is treated and this melts into the exposed pores and scratches caused by etching. Then, the surface is ready for the synthetic porcelain coating. This coating is then Baked on using a heat applicator and dry within 4 minutes. Another coat of fusion lock molecular bonding agent is then applied and melted into the synthetic porcelain. Followed by 9 coats of synthetic porcelain with liquid glass resin and fiberglass resin. The result is an ultra high gloss finish that is baked on, dries in 4 minutes, ready to use the same day and looks and feels like porcelain.
