Bathtub Refinishing | Residential Quality
Please don't let someone paint your bathtub with epoxy or acrylic urethane paint. I see these fail on a weekly basis. I have seen an above average number failing in 2018. In fact more than I have seen since 2008!
- P.B.R.A. - The Professional Bathtub Refinishing Association recommends using polyester coatings etched into the original surface and bonded on a molecular level with Silane coupling agent (Developed by the aerospace Industry)
- It is a very fair statement to say the Fluoropolymer coating is like a spray in bathtub liner that is integrated into the old surface and has the look and feel of porcelain.
- Owner / Operated since 1992! I still do all work myself!
- Warranty Included. Not a prorated warranty! A Real Warranty!
- Look at the painted Bathtub and tile videos below that failed within months! video is less than 2 min.
Epoxy Paint Fail Video Above
The video above shows a bathtub that the customer said was completed about 2 weeks earlier. You can see how loose the paint was. I was literally laying on top of the bathtub surface. I was able to pick the painted surface up, almost in one continuous layer. However, I had to lay the camera down to remove the excess coating. This was a professional they had paid $250.00 to refinishing the tub. I was able to remove the old epoxy coating, then you can see the residue left under the coating as I sand and strip it away. I then etches the tub, applied 2 layers of silane coupling agent before finishing up with 5 to 7 coats of a glossy white polyester finish to the bathtub and recaulked around the tub.
